These three steps, 'self-restraint, charity, and consciousnesses', or 'control, generosity, and attention', are inscribed on the Garuda pillar in Vidisha, central India, representing the story of Vishnu, the god of preservation, restoring harmony to the universe in the form of Vāmana, the 'dwarf god', associated with the planet Jupiter.
Vishnu has said to have incarnated 9 times, each time as an avatar associated with one of the 9 Grahas or planets of Indian astrology. When there is chaos, Vishnu returns harmony, uplifting the planets, bringing out their highest expressions.
In 2021, Jupiter and Saturn enter Vishnu's star sign, Shravana, in sidereal Capricorn, a sign that is symbolized by these three footsteps; thus, the journey begins …
